The Dallas Cowboys are seeking an innovative, trend-creating leader to blaze a new high-energy path of fan connectivity for the most successful brand in sports. Cowboys social media leads the NFL in total multi-platform followers, delivering high-quality content and access to engage an audience that now measures into the 10s of millions. This is a unique opportunity to play a core role with the industry leaders, while amplifying one of the most iconic teams in sports.
 
The Cowboys Director of Social Media will lead all aspects of social media, working in collaboration with all key internal partners including Team/Players, Marketing, Sponsorship/Sales, Cheerleading, Communications and Community Relations. Narrative delivery and strategic support, creative direction and innovation, team building, leadership, proactive communication, and the ability to understand and embrace organizational dynamics are critical for success. The ideal candidate has 8-10 years of experience in social media and at least 3-5 years of experience leading a team.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Use experience and data to provide strategic direction for all social channels
  • Lead team in ideation and publishing of social content
  • Work with marketing team to provide social strategies for events and promotions
  • Work with sponsorship to identify and deliver compelling content for sponsors
  • Review data to provide strategic advice regarding social media

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field preferred
  • Experience with Social Media platforms required
  • Social Media technical skills preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to deliver tangible results within a short timeframe with limited resources
  • Able to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to changes while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectiveness under pressure
  • Able to work well within a team environment, offering assistance and support to team members whenever necessary
  • Able to balance internal priorities with client expectations
  • Able to work flexible hours
