Summary Description

The Director, Fan Experience & Events is responsible for the ideation, management and execution of all tangible aspects of the fan experience.  This individual is obsessed with providing our fans and guests with a best-in-class experience across each event throughout the year. He/She will direct all gameday activations to enhance the customer experience and strengthen the Browns brand, while effectively communicating all activities to event staff, other departments and the NFL.  This individual will also oversee all facets of production and scoreboard operations during gamedays.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop the annual fan experience and events strategic plan focused on the overarching organizational principle of fan obsession
  • Develop and assist in the fulfillment of event-related programs which enhance corporate partners’ marketing objectives and overall customer experiences, keeping within the NFL guidelines, as well as those of the Cleveland Browns
  • Develop and manage the annual fan experience/events and gameday production budgets
  • Approve and submit all purchase orders related to above mentioned budgets
  • Establish and promote a positive culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Identify incremental revenue and stature enhancement programs for the organization
  • Assist Communications staff with maximizing media exposure for all gameday entertainment and non-game events
  • Contract or arrange with vendors for event items such as temporary site construction, bleachers, lighting, tents, electrical, etc.
  • Ensure proper risk management and insurance procedures are covered for all events
  • Develop with corporate partners a system of event evaluation and complete all surveys to render reports to corporate partners
  • Develop an evaluation system whereby fans can provide input to the usefulness, satisfaction, and entertainment value of in-stadium promotions and special events; conduct and deliver such report to senior management
  • Oversee Cleveland Browns Mascot Program
  • Manage Director, Scoreboard Operations and Mgr, Fan Experience & Events
  • Oversee Game Entertainment Game Day Staff
  • Be a key contributor amongst the senior leadership marketing team

Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in marketing, sports management, or related field; Master’s Degree in marketing, sports management, or relate field preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in fan experience and events, or overseeing gameday operations; experience working in the sports and entertainment industry preferred
  • Proficient at Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics CRM)
  • Advanced level of expertise in planning and producing large scale live events
  • Knowledge of business intelligence, data and analytics and how they can enhance the overall fan experience
