Position: Player Engagement Seasonal Assistant

Reports To: Director, Player Engagement

Location: Arizona Cardinals (Tempe, AZ)

Duration: 12 months

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Player Engagement, the Player Engagement Seasonal Assistant is responsible for maintaining player resources and assisting with the holistic development of the Arizona Cardinals Football Team.

 

Primary Job Duties:

 The Player Engagement Seasonal Assistant will have daily responsibilities including, without the limitation the following:

  • Assist in the execution of Arizona Cardinals Player Engagement programs in accordance with League standards, including but not limited to the core programs of continuing education, career development, financial education, and player assistance services.
  • Facilitate the on-boarding process for all newly acquired players for them to have an effective and efficient transition into the Arizona Cardinals and Phoenix area. Must be able to establish and maintain relationships with local vendors, service providers, and organizations that we trust to take care of our players.
  • Responsible for all administrative duties for the department: family profiles, off-season interests, community service interests, background of player, and any other pertinent information.
  • Consistently and quickly respond to personal player issues/crises efficiently and effectively. Work closely with the Director of Player Engagement to communicate with coaches and players to cultivate team culture and continue to improve team performance. Increase collaboration and cross-functional communication amongst departments to establish synergy and cooperative interaction.
  • Responsible for coordinating and facilitating the logistics of the Rookie Success Program, Rookie Family Support Symposium, and any additional player engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure the success of all Arizona Cardinals team operations and events, both at home and on the road; off-season program, Training Camp, pre- and regular season, including international and post-season.
  • Work all games and assist with compliance of NFL game day rules and regulations.
  • Create, develop, and nurture trust with the players while enhancing the overall team culture. This process involves being transparent and opening to the individual players for them to feel comfortable enough to trust that we have their best interest at heart not just as football players but men, husbands, sons, brothers, fathers, and professionals.
  • Aid personnel department with the transportation of try-outs, Free Agent visits, Top 30 visits, and player transactions.
  • Assist organizing players participation for client/sponsor appearances and Cardinals Charitable Events
  • Assist the coaching, equipment, and video staff with practice operations

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Skills in operations management, process improvement, strategic planning, leadership, budget management, project management and staffing management
  • Effectively implement strategic planning initiatives, use analytical thinking to make critical decisions and solve problems
  • Must be able to handle extremely high stress situations and timelines that sometimes require rigorous work schedules
  • A strong understanding of various graphic design to deliver engaging presentations
  • High proficiency with Mac and PC operating systems and Microsoft Office Software
  • An advanced knowledge of database software
  • Substantial interpersonal relationship skills and leadership skills in a high stress environment
  • Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot in a high stress, fast-paced, in-season environment
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly self-motivated with a shared commitment to excellence

 

Position Information:

This position is part of the Football Operations department. Experience in human capital development and curriculum development. The Player Engagement Seasonal Assistant is responsible for organizing and providing resources for the holistic development of the entire Arizona Cardinals football team. A proactive problem solver, possessing a strong work ethic and an ability to work in all Arizona Cardinals games, long hours, irregular schedules, weekend, early morning, late night and holiday work assignments are the norm. A good attitude and a commitment to teamwork is a must.
