Summary:  

The Arizona Cardinals Privacy Office is looking to fill a new Director, Data Privacy role. Reporting to our Sr. Director, Consumer Insights and our Privacy Committee, this role is responsible for managing the privacy-related compliance and risks that could impact the Club’s ability to live its values, sustain its purpose, and achieve its strategic objectives. This includes managing and ensuring compliance with all relevant information privacy laws and regulations.  To be successful in this role, you must have strong leadership experience, knowledgeable in all matters related to information privacy including jurisdictional laws, regulations, enforcement models, compliance, terminology, policies, and privacy program development, and have the technical knowledge to address the Club’s various data sources.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Builds a strategic and comprehensive privacy program and defines, develops, maintains, and implements policies and processes that enable consistent, effective privacy practices that minimize risk and ensure the confidentiality of protected information, paper and/or electronic, across all media types
  • Ensures privacy forms, policies, standards, and procedures are up-to-date
  • Works with senior leadership, including the SVP Marketing, Chief People Officer, Chief Financial Officer, VP Information Technology, Sr. Director, Consumer Insights, General Counsel, and the Privacy Committee to establish governance for the privacy program
  • Serves in a leadership role for privacy compliance liaising across League and member clubs driving Club’s data strategy efforts around fan unified view and consent capture
  • Collaborate with the VP Information Technology to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs including policies, practices, investigations, and acts as a liaison to the information systems department
  • Establishes an ongoing process to track, investigate, and report inappropriate access and disclosure of protected information, while monitoring patterns of improper access and/or disclosure of protected information
  • Performs or oversees initial and periodic information privacy risk assessment/analysis, mitigation, and remediation
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop, deliver, and oversee initial and ongoing privacy training to the workforce
  • Works closely with the Sr. Director, Consumer Insights and other applicable organization units in overseeing customer rights to correct, access, delete, and limit use of sharing of personal data when appropriate
  • Assist Club business units with the development of strategic plans for the collection, use, and sharing of information in a manner that maximizes its value while complying with applicable regulations and support the development of tools and methodologies to ensure on-going compliance
  • Manages all required breach determination and notification processes under applicable State breach rules and requirements
  • Establishes and administers a process for investigating and acting on privacy and security complaints
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards
  • Works with organization administration, legal counsel, and other relevant parties to represent the organization’s information and interests with external parties (state or local government bodies) who undertake to adopt or amend privacy legislation, regulation, or standards
  • Serves as information privacy resource to the organization regarding the release of information and all departments for all privacy-related issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, in a related field, from an accredited 4-Year College or University, graduate degree or JD preferred
  • Certifications in Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), and Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other privacy certifications from the IAPP or similar organization preferred
  • Up to 7 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Data Privacy Compliance, Information Security Compliance, Computer Information Systems-Cybersecurity, Strategic and Security Studies, Information Assurance, or Health Information Management
  • Knowledge and experience in state and federal information privacy laws
  • Demonstrated organization, facilitation, written and oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple completing priorities that require strong project management and decision-making capabilities
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and drive to improve
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficient in the use of OneTrust platforms
  • OneTrust Professional or Expert Certifications preferred
  • Previous management consulting experience preferred
