Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Director/Executive Producer, Radio & Podcasts, the Associate Producer will assist in the planning and production of all radio programming and podcasts and will play a large role in shaping the entire scope of audio content for the Arizona Cardinals Football Club. This position demands an individual with a passion for storytelling and attention for detail required to produce rich, quality radio broadcasts and other audio content.
Primary Job Duties:
The Associate Producer, Radio & Podcasts will have daily responsibilities including, without the limitation the following:
- Assist in the planning and production of all Cardinals radio shows, podcasts and other programming on a year-round basis
- Conduct interviews with players, coaches and front office members to be featured in radio shows and podcasts
- Work in radio broadcast booth as an on-site producer at Cardinals home and road games. Duties include supporting the radio engineer and broadcast talent, managing game flow and commercial breaks as well as recording a full-mix and split-track version of each game
- Setup, live mixing and recording of press conferences and other media availably
- Log and archive game broadcasts, radio shows, podcasts, press conferences, interviews and more
- Assist in the recording, production and uploading of radio shows and podcasts to azcardinals.com and multiple podcast platforms
- Create episode-specific podcast and radio show graphics and promos
- Write descriptive summaries for radio shows and podcasts and produce clips to promote on various social media channels
- Track podcast analytics
- Assist in the maintenance of the radio/podcast studio, its equipment and schedule
- Work with Media Relations department to secure guests for various shows and podcasts
- Assist in coordinating broadcast talent schedules and invoicing
- Generate reports for broadcast and digital music library usage
- Assist in fulfilling the needs of the Cardinals flagship radio station, network affiliates and other partners
- Develop new ideas for sponsored content to be featured in radio programming and podcasts that provides value and exposure for partners and new lines of revenue for the organization
- Participate in various video content productions including on-location sound mixing and post-production audio enhancing
- Create radio spots to promote tickets, merchandise, events and more
- Other duties as assigned by the Director/Executive Producer, Radio & Podcasts
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, communications, audio production, marketing or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Robust experience in audio editing is required
- Strong knowledge of NFL football
- Knowledge of Adobe Audition and Photoshop
- Experience with studio and field audio recording
- Experience in social media workflows
- Experience in editing audio/video clips for social media
- Ability to collaborate with team members and other departments
- Flexible to work nights, holidays and weekends
Special Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Must have the ability to work all Arizona Cardinals home games, select road games, long hours, irregular schedules, weekends, early mornings, late nights and holidays
