Position Summary:
The San Francisco 49ers are looking for a Senior Accountant.  This full-time position will be responsible for general accounting activities including month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.  This position will also prepare financial reports for various audiences (NFL, CPA, auditors, Management/Ownership) which include FLUX analysis. Partnering with key business decision makers to assist in planning and analysis will also be an important element of the role.  The ideal person for this position will have accounting experience and be detail-oriented. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Month End Close | G/L Account Reconciliation
  • Coordinate and schedule month end close tasks with all teams within Accounting and Finance
  • Prepare certain month end close entries
  • Review, approve and post entries prepared by staff
  • Complete several G/L account reconciliations
  • Review/approve account reconciliations prepared by staff

Financial Reporting
  • Compile financial reports timely and accurately
  • Interface with auditors, CPAs and other internal and external parties as needed
  • Prepare required lender and City of Santa Clara documents for periodic communication to third parties
  • Respond to questions based on financial report submissions
  • Assist in financial planning and modeling
  • Detailed modeling and analysis of revenue and expenses

Other Responsibilities
  • Ensure daily cash management is completed accurately and timely
  • Administer debt service obligations (payments and reporting) in accordance with loan documents, payment schedules and budgets
  • Oversee fixed and intangible assets including CIP to additions review and 571-L filing
  • Perform various other special projects as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed
  • Ability to interact with people of all different levels and backgrounds
  • Strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment

Education and Experience:
  • 5-7 years’ related work experience
  • US GAAP experience
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Expert level in Excel including ability to work with large data sets and workbooks
  • Desire to move ahead in their career/goal oriented and motivated
  • BS in Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA preferred but not required
