This is a software development internship within the Football Systems team. Our team builds the 49ers’ proprietary scouting system as well as various other applications.  We support all parts of the Football organization. 
This is a full-stack development position (database, server code and browser Javascript). You will work on the development of new features and help maintain the existing product. You will work with other groups to extract and prepare data for their use.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Collaborates with various groups in Football Ops to enhance existing applications.
  • Communicates with users to gather system requirements.
  • Works with developers, analysts and scouts to support existing applications.
  • Creates tests and documentation for bug fixes and new application features/functions.
 Required Abilities and Skills:
  • Computer Science fundamentals, e.g. data structures and algorithms.
  • Ability to write clean, well-documented code.
  • Strong oral and written (English) communication skills
  • Ability to ramp up on development projects quickly.
  • Understanding of how to use version control systems in a team environment.
  • A strong focus on quality and an interest in automated testing.
Education and Experience:
  • BS in Comp Science (or on track to graduate within a year) or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with three-tier web applications preferred.
  • Experience with SQL, Python and Javascript/JQuery is preferred.  More important is the demonstrated ability to learn new languages and technology quickly.
  • Hands on experience with SQL Server administration, nginx configuration, regular expressions, BeautifulSoup and git is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will routinely work at a monitor and must be able to use a keyboard and mouse. 

Although we are a geographically dispersed team, this employee will regularly work on-site. Remote work allowed with prior approval.
This job does not require any travel.
