 About the Position:
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for the operations of communications activities at USA Cycling. This includes, but is not limited to long and short form content creation and execution, fan/member engagement, and event coverage.
 This position reports to the Communications Manager and works closely with the Marketing Manager, and Marketing Coordinator.
 Core Responsibilities:
  • Creating, planning, and executing engaging content for the website and social media that aligns with the organization content strategy related to the USA Cycling National Team, National Championships, National Events, and Sponsorships.
  • Create content, social media, and engagement reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Write and distribute press releases in a timely manner
  • Write and publish internal content pieces in a timely manner
  • Manage social media engagement and interactions
  • Work closely with the Communications and Marketing Managers to attend regular content and email planning meetings, developing transparency in corporate communications.
  • Cover events in-person and remotely including, but not limited to, social media coverage, daily press releases, daily emails, and other necessary event communications.
  • Other duties as requested and/or determined.
Requirements: 
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a progressively-responsible strategic communications/marketing roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, communications, or related field
  • Exceptional writing, grammatical, and copy-editing skills and the ability to write original content
  • Proficient communication skills – written and oral with the ability to look for insights and approach new ways to problem solve 
  • Proven knowledge and expertise of social media platforms used for marketing promotions 
  • Knowledge of the sport of Cycling and the community of Cycling 

 About You:
  • Detail-oriented with proficient organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain positive and professional attitude especially in high-stress situations
  • Ability to travel (weekend work required)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
 Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by potential candidates to successfully perform the essential functions of the role. 
  • Ability to attend in-person Cycling events, standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
  • Positioned in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional standing, squatting, reaching and bending.
  • Ability to receive information through oral communication both in-person, over video conferencing platforms, and on the telephone.
  • Manual dexterity needed for using computer keyboard.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Must have adequate vision to operate computer and complete paperwork.
 Software Experience:
Familiarity with the following software applications (or similar) is preferred: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); email marketing software, photo editing software.
 Travel:
This is a remote/hybrid position but will require occasional travel.
  • 10-25% travel
  • Occasional weekend work required
  • Occasional travel to the USA Cycling headquarters in Colorado Springs
 Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time, non- exempt, fully remote position. The starting compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour, with an opportunity for performance bonuses.
