UCF Athletics at the University of Central Florida, an NCAA Division I institution and American Athletic Conference (The American) member, is seeking applications for the position of Senior Executive Associate A.D. / Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

As a member of the Vice President and Director of Athletics' management team, the position is engaged in providing the management, administrative direction, coordination, and control of activities of the overall Intercollegiate Athletics program within UCF, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the UCF Athletics Association, Inc. (UCFAA), a Direct Service Organization of the University of Central Florida and not-for-profit (501(c)3) organization, providing overall administration, management and coordination of all financial policies, procedures and practices for the organization;
  • Serve as the Chief Financial Adviser to the Vice President and Director of Athletics, and lead financial advisor to the UCFAA Board of Directors, with responsibility for keeping the UCF President, UCF Chief Financial Officer and UCF's Board of Trustees informed on financial matters that are germane to the objectives and mission of the university as a whole;
  • Serves as the primary signature authority for UCFAA expenditures and contractual agreements, and is accountable for the financial management and internal controls over revenue collections and expenditures of the Athletics Department;
  • Provides leadership in the development and management of the overall budget, with emphasis on long-term financial planning. Responsible for five to ten year financial planning scenarios, that includes liquidity and cash flow management inside current and future opportunities for UCFAA;
  • Operating under a holistic view of treasury management functions such that resources are always available to meet expenses, builds an annual operating reserve constructed for both operational and capital needs.  Evaluates financial implications of business activities / strategic direction, and advises regarding opportunities for debt reduction and revenue generation;
  • Create and maintain all KPIs and OKRs (if applicable) and hold employees and leaders of UCFAA accountable for meeting those financial metrics on an annual basis;
  • Provides leadership and direction over the internal areas of Business & Finance, Human Resources & Risk Management, and Information Technology.  Ensures compliance with federal, State, and University policies/regulations relative to areas of oversight;
  • Assists in negotiating and monitoring all contracts and agreements pertaining to the UCFAA and its operational success;  
  • Actively represents the UCFAA and Director of Athletics with various University, Conference, NCAA and related constituencies and committees, as well as donor relations where appropriate.

Minimum qualifications: 
  • Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four (4) years appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six (6) years of appropriate experience. 
  • Prefer executive level experience within intercollegiate athletics with emphasis over budget management through sound financial policies. 
  • As a UCF Athletics staff member, the selected candidate will be a person of integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and institutional rules as they apply to the UCF Athletics program.
