The Digital Strategy & Content Coordinator will assist in executing strategies, content and messaging for Syracuse University Department of Athletics’ digital platforms, including social media, video platforms and website (Cuse.com), reporting directly to the manager of digital strategy and engagement.

Promote the brand of Syracuse University Athletics and its sports programs, working in conjunction with various units in the department to execute the strategies set forth by the manager of digital strategy and engagement for content distribution and messaging on digital platforms. Assist in the implementation of marketing material and advertisements for Athletics’ digital platforms and other methods of distribution through graphic design and video production work. Assist in the recruiting, training and scheduling of undergraduate intern staff. Utilize website analytics reporting for Learfield-IMG College partners as well as for internal use for optimizing content strategies.

Support the Athletic Department’s efforts in new and emerging social media and networking platforms by assisting the direct supervisor with meeting content goals on digital platforms.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a related field (communications, journalism, advertising, marketing, sport management, etc.) 1-2 years professional and/or student experience in a related field.

Job Specific Qualifications
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, particularly Photoshop and Premiere. 
  • Major social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (Snapchat and TikTok preferred).
  • Experience working with Sprout Social platform preferred.
  • Experience working with the SIDEARM Sports CMS is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the creation and organization of digital content, coordinate with other contributing units, and distribute content and messaging for athletics social media accounts and website, Cuse.com. The emphasis will be placed on brand and audience building, cultivating and developing relationships with our digital audience, and revenue generation. This includes working with support staff, coaches and student-athletes to recognize program priorities and develop strategies to meet goals. 
  • Support the fulfillment of sponsored digital content inventory, planning, and messaging with Learfield-IMG College partners and licensees. 
  • Assist in the scheduling and event coverage of undergraduate and graduate student intern staff. This includes their office hour assignments, developing content ideas with them, and coordinating with Creative Services, Athletic Communications, and Marketing staffs. 
  • Provide game-day digital media support for sports events and other important events as assigned. This includes revenue and non-revenue generating sports events and the assignments of student intern staff at these events. 
  • Work with student-athletes, coaches and staff to provide social media best practices for their individual brands. This includes assisting the manager of digital strategy and engagement with education on the latest developments with Name-Image-Likeness (NIL) legislation from both government entities and the NCAA, utilizing INFLCR and SIDEARM Sports partnerships for content distribution and sharing with student-athletes, coaches and staff. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
