Human Resources within DAPER is responsible for recruiting, retaining and inspiring all current and future team members. We strive to be an overall great place to work and encourage our team members to be innovative and efficient in everything they do. Our internships provide an opportunity to learn more about working in a complex, multi-function human resources department, and provide opportunities to get an inner look at working in a sports office from the ground up. The HR team is looking for two organized and motivated individuals to join our team as HR Interns for spring/summer 2025. The internship is expected to be from April-September, with the possibility of extension.
The HR Intern is expected to work in an on-site role between 20-30 hours per week. Our expected pay range is $18.70 - $23.59 per hour.
In this role, you will:
- Hire and onboard camp counselors for assigned sports camps, including drafting and sending offer letters, initiating background checks, and providing instructions regarding compliance and HR-related requirements
- Collaborate with and provide guidance to coaches and staff members on the camp hiring process
- Administer I-9s for new employees
- Initiate pay transactions such as one-time and recurring supplemental payments
- Assist with assigning labor schedules and making labor distribution adjustments
- Organize and maintain personnel files
- Assist with transitioning paper files into an electronic system
- Other HR duties as assigned
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy
- Willingness and ability to learn and apply general human resources policies using problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive and personal information with sound judgment, tact, and discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong and effective interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong computer skills, including using the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive
- Proactive, takes initiative and ownership of projects
