Event Management: Event Operations/Management

The Golden State Warriors and Chase Center are seeking dynamic, high energy and dedicated Special Events Coordinator to assist in the execution of special events, including but not limited to arena events, corporate events, civic events, community events, etc. As a Special Events Coordinator, you will have a keen attention to detail and excellent project management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and cutting-edge environment

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, CA reporting to the Director of Events Services 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist with the planning, implementation, production and execution of meetings and special events
  • Attend home games throughout the season and assist with event management and activations for all internal, community and corporate events throughout the Bay Area
  • Handle all logistics related to the planning and execution of events, including: venue procurement, budget management, and onsite logistics (i.e. event staff, site inspections, operation plans, registration and check-in management, required permit requests, communications to Warriors executive staff and directors as necessary, player appearance requests, security procurement and coordination with clients, vendors and Warriors staff, and Chase Center Staff, etc.)
  • Partner with the Marketing department to request and develop materials needed to promote events
  • Partner with Chase Center Event Services to execute operations within arena
  • Maintain and update calendar of all events and vendor database
  • Attend industry events, on a regular basis, as a representative of the organization
  • Perform various administrative tasks as assigned 

Required Experience & Skills 

  • College Degree preferred with a major in hospitality management, business, or related field.
  • 2+ years working in special events with deep understanding of events planning and event operations or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record of working with executive level stakeholders
  • A passion for creating extraordinary and unique events specific to our brand and marketing goals
  • Can-do thinker with the ability to work through complicated situations
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while providing realistic expectations and excellent customer service
  • Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills but have the ability to work independently when resources are stretched
  • Strong communication, including written, verbal, and public speaking
  • Highly proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity with social media marketing and the digital space
  • A pulse on current trends as well as an ability to keep events relevant and fresh
  • Able to lift and carry at least 40 lbs
  • Must have a valid Driver License with the flexibility to travel for out of area events or meetings
  • Available to work a dynamic, on-call 24/7 schedule (overnights, evenings, weekends and holidays) as necessary
