The Salt Lake Bees, AAA affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels and home to the University of Utah Baseball team, are seeking the ideal candidate to fill the role of Seasonal Assistant Groundskeeper for the 2022 season. The position is hourly with ample opportunity for overtime that will span from the beginning of March to November. The hire will work in collaboration with the Director, Senior Manager, and Manager of Field Operations in all aspects of maintaining the playing surface for the Salt Lake Bees, the University of Utah, and all other on-field events.

This position will provide valuable education and hands-on experience for someone pursuing a career in the sports turf industry as well as supporting the hire to further develop the essential skills needed to advance both personally and professionally.



  • Effectively assist in managing and training part-time employees in everyday tasks
  • Assist with all day-to-day practices concerning the turf, skin, mound, plate, bullpens, warning track, fertilizer application, etc.
  • Successfully operate machinery essential to promote proper field management such as rollers, plate compactors, carts, tractors, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned based on the hire’s growth and proficiencies

  • High level of motivation to learn and advance in the sports turf industry.
  • Ability to complete assigned duties in an efficient manner according to the standards set by the Director of Field Operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Bees management, coaches, event staff, and coworkers.
  • Capability to work long hours during homestands, non-baseball events, holidays, etc.
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment with periods of walking, standing, lifting, and running.
