Lead conception, advancement and execution of coverage, content and storylines for Sacramento Kings and related entity digital platforms, as well as support day-to-day engagement for the organization’s online network and related platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, facilitate and create digital initiatives, including the production, editing, coordination of approval and posting phases of web and social content – including but not limited to year-round written, video, photo and audio storytelling.
  • Enhance connection of key stakeholders with online audiences and coordinate collaboration opportunities with industry influencers, fans and collaborators.
  • Oversee social content calendar and use analytics to test, support and drive evolution of social content and engagement strategy.
  • Perform extensive research, conduct interviews and cover events, such as games, concerts and press conferences.
  • Network with sports figures, athletes and other relevant stakeholders to brainstorm creative ideas for future content shared across organizational digital networks.
  • Provide strategic guidance to Kings junior digital staff.
  • Facilitate interorganizational digital activations and additional department-related projects.
  • Maintain awareness of latest digital rules, guidelines, trends, campaigns and storytelling techniques.
  • Frequent travel including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • 5 years of experience developing written, video, photo and audio content for a brand/sports/media/entertainment outlet or similar.
  • Background in journalism, video production, communications, social media or related field preferred.
  • Strength in storytelling and creative activation across social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Experience working with a team of content creators to conceive and implement highly-engaging output across a multitude of digital networks.
  • Strong background in Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel and social media-related reporting platforms.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable about the Sacramento Kings, NBA, basketball culture, fashion, eSports, entertainment, pop culture and technology.
  • Passion for customer service and desire to cater to internal and external customers.
  • Experience using data to inform decision making.
  • Self-starter motivated to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-oriented workplace.
  • Team and detail oriented.
