Facility Operations/Event Staff: Custodial/Housekeeping
SUMMARY
This position is accountable for overseeing the night housekeeping crews and overseeing the cleanup in the seating area of the arena (the bowl) and the suite cleaning crews. Come join our Clean Team!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manage personnel including temporary employees, oversee training, evaluate performance, and providing staff feedback about their performance.
  • Supervise and assist the staffing company supervisors as they work to have their crews in place. Begin the process of cleaning the seating bowl area, including picking up all trash, sweeping and mopping seating aisles and stairs. Ensure the entrances to the seating bowl are cleaned and clear. Cleaning of all hand rails and glass features within the bowl. Remove gum and stickers from seats, floors, and walls. Coordinate any kind of special cleaning projects that may be needed from time to time within the bowl.
  • Supervise the overnight housekeeping staff to ensure the cleanliness of all offices, restrooms, boardrooms, break rooms, and employee locker rooms. Ensure carpeted hallways are vacuumed and tile floors are swept and mopped.
  • Supervise and assist in the cleaning of the event level hallways and dock areas making sure all carpet and carpet runners are vacuumed, all concrete is swept and mopped, all trash is emptied and all the glass is cleaned.
  • Supervise the night housekeeping crews on the event level to ensure that all offices, restrooms, event level rooms, Pacers/Fever locker rooms, security control and event level clubs are cleaned and maintained.
  • Supervise the suite cleaning crews enforcing that all suites are cleaned which includes trash removal, vacuuming the carpets and wiping down counter tops and glass features.
  • Ensure storage areas utilized by the housekeeping department are clean and organized. Make sure housekeeping crew has all the equipment and supplies needed to accomplish their nightly tasks.
  • Review and approve subordinates’ time cards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Employee should have a knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and the internet as well as the ability to a learn and utilize new computer programs quickly and efficiently.  


 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent.


REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret directions and technical diagrams. 


PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS:
Employee must exercise discretion in planning clean-up activities after events and assigning workers to job tasks.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, move heavy objects, use a computer, use a 10-key calculator, use a telephone, speak, hear, and write.


While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate and the noise level in the Fieldhouse / game environment is usually loud. The stress level may become high during certain times of the year.
