Player Operations: Equipment Manager
The Fever Equipment/Operations Coordinator is a seasonal position that begins prior to training camp (April) and ends at the completion of the WNBA season (September) and is responsible for distributing and maintaining inventory for all equipment related to the Fever Basketball Team. In addition, this position hires, supervises and supervises the team attendants and the team attendant program. This position works with coaches for daily practice and game set up and needs, assists the visiting team with their needs for practices and games, and will travel with the team on the road as assigned! 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all equipment including, but not limited to, player uniforms, practice gear, shoes, travel bags, etc. Also includes coordination of other supplies for the team such as drinks, basketballs, locker room needs, practice equipment, and other needs for players and coaches.
  • Responsible for the coordination and organization of transporting equipment/gear between multiple locations for practice and games in the Indianapolis metro area.
  • Responsible for the distribution and maintenance of player equipment including, but not limited to, daily laundry, laundry, and distribution of equipment on road trips, laundry for visiting teams, etc. This position also does all packing for the road trips.
  • This position is responsible for maintaining a system for the distribution of equipment to players and staff and then balancing this at the end of the season with an annual inventory. They work with the Director of Basketball Operations on reorders based upon a predetermined budget.
  • Works with coaches on daily practice needs for players and team practices at home and on the road. Runs a scoreboard/shot clock/keeps up with the schedule to be sure the equipment is there when needed (whistles, drinks, towels, cones, play-boards, etc.)
  • General upkeep and maintenance of player locker room.
  • Ensure there are always clean towels and other equipment available.
  • Assists with visiting team needs such as locker room needs, laundry, drinks, towels, and practice needs. And makes sure their locker room is set up accurately and stocked.
  • Meets visiting team upon arrival to practices and game day shoot-around by setting up the court and locker rooms prior to arrival.
  • Hire, lead, and supervise approximately 20 team attendants, including, but not limited to, recruiting, and hiring of team attendants, game assignments, designating specific job duties, and training on a regular basis.
  • Overseas daily responsibilities of the basketball operations intern.
  • Assist with team travel responsibilities such as loading of equipment, laundry, bus transportation needs and other needs that arise on the road.
  • Assist coaching staff with player workouts as needed.
  • Run errands outside the Fieldhouse as advised by coaching staff, basketball staff and athletic training staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Four-year degree from a university preferred. Former Division 1 basketball student manager or professional basketball equipment manager highly preferred.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related computer skills required.
