Job Summary
 The Public Safety Intern will assist the Director of Building Safety & Security with security preparation for events, management during the events, including with crowd management, guest relations, fire marshall, EMT, police, and additional tasks as necessary.
 Job Period
Spring Semester-January to May; Summer Semester-May to August; Fall Semester-August to December

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare pre-event instruction sheets for staff briefings
  • Work on staff/team member handbook
  • Assist with safety committee review and revision to emergency manual
  • Develop survey to capture CM and security ideas for improved customer service
  • For events, administer survey to CM & security personnel
  • Spend day/event with security, crowd management, guest relations, fire marshall, EMT, police

  • Public Safety, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security or other related major.
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written).
  • Well organized and strong computer knowledge.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
