Pacers Sports & Entertainment has an opening for an intern pursuing a degree in Event Management or Hospitality. This position will report directly to the Sr. Events Coordinator and is responsible for assisting with projects for the Utility Set-up, Conversion, and Housekeeping departments. This position will be required to work long and unusual hours at times based on the event schedule and the requirements of the show/event including evenings, weekends, late nights (3rd shift) and/or early mornings.  The candidate filling this position must have excellent organization and communication skills.

1.     Participate and assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of meetings and events at Bankers Life Fieldhouse 
2.     Assist the Event Production staff by producing weekly meeting sheets that are distributed company wide
3.     Act as the Event Coordinator during assigned events
4.     Assist the Event Production staff with administrative needs (i.e. scheduling meetings, generating instruction sheets, filing documents, etc.)
5.     Assist the Event Production staff with game day responsibilities
6.     Assist promoter and clients to ensure smooth event operations
7.     Assist the Event Production staff with placing vendor orders
8.     Assist event patrons to ensure they have an enjoyable experience
9.     Assist other Facilities Operations divisions as needed – Utility Set-up, Changeover, etc.
10.  Any other duties as assigned

An undergraduate student who is majoring in Event Management, Hospitality or Sport Management. Must have a proven track record which shows excellent organization, follow-up, communication, project management and inter-personal skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with all types of clients, co-workers, and the general public.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions and reports. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Clients, Customers, and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively under pressure and when working under a deadline.

Knowledge to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as making change, analyzing costs, figuring statistics and making area measurements.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret directions.

Approximately 40 hours per week.

Fall:                        Early September – December
Spring:                   Early January – Early May
Summer:               Late May – Early August

This position is a paid internship requiring students to receive college credit. The internship takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana and any relocation/moving expenses are the responsibility of the intern.
