Role Purpose
The New York Liberty Marketing team is looking for a motivated, team-orientated multi-platform Marketing Assistant to enhance the team’s integrated marketing efforts. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the hire will successfully develop and implement fully integrated, multi-channel strategic marketing and promotional campaigns designed to build awareness, engage fans, and drive desired results. Your core focus will be to assist in the development of initiatives, in partnership with Digital and Content, in support of Ticket Sales, Marketing Partnerships, Merchandise and Media business goals.

In This Role, You Will:
  • Assist in the design and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies that will engage consumers and align with the company’s business initiatives
  • Utilize market, league and team generated research to improve marketing efficiencies and deliver a premier brand expression for the organization
  • Produce ideas for promotional events and/or activities throughout the season
  • Support and reinforce brand awareness efforts internally, ensuring staff is well-versed on brand purpose
  • Liaise between creative/media agencies and departments in an effort to achieve business goals
  • Assist dedicated Sales Staff to craft targeted campaigns focused on growth and retention of season ticket membership base, single game sales, partial plan sales and groups sales
  • Assist dedicated Partnership department to ensure partner inclusion within organizational platforms, promotions, events and campaigns
  • Assist Merchandise department in driving merchandise goals as well as strategy for premium product
  • Act as primary liaison for the Marketing department with all business units within the organization to facilitate and optimize communications and marketing efforts
  • Provide current, accurate and reliable information to VP of Marketing as to daily, weekly, monthly activities and initiatives
  • Assist in other duties as assigned

Requirements: 
  • A creative marketing professional with one-three years experience; previous experience in sports and entertainment preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities
  • Proactive self-starter who can anticipate, problem solve and ask for help when needed 
  • Fast learner who can retain information
  • An ambitious self-starter who’s inspired to successfully see a project through from ideation to execution 
  • Open to a variable work schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays
  • An excellent teammate who collaborates effectively 
  • Social media proficient 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Adobe Creative Suite 

Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar field is required. Masters preferred but not required.
