Do you have the desire to get into the business side of sports? Spend your summer with the Sparks as part of our Sales Academy Internship Program this summer. This program will touch on all aspects of the ticket selling, event marketing, and game day experiences. Through the Academy our goal is to get you game day ready for your first job in sports. We are seeking ambitious and results oriented candidates to join our team. 

Key Program Benefits:

  • Access to department leaders for resume review and interview prep session

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Learn to build and develop new business by regularly pitching new prospects through outbound calling and events
  • Follow up of leads and ticket sales or upcoming games, ticket-targeted programs and seasonal events
  • Attend community events representing the Sparks to drive brand awareness and the interest of new fans
  • Learn how to build and coordinate events by working closely with Community Relations/Marketing/Sales Departments to ensure amazing events and experiences
  • Grow professional-client relationship interactions by being present on game days working with the sales and service team to ensure the ultimate fan experience
  • Research potential groups and develop leads for ticket targeted programs/events
  • Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strength in time management, and customer service skills
  • High energy; ability to remain focused on sales goals
  • Maintain accurate records of all prospecting activities and closed sales
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment
  • Strong desire to start a career in the sports industry
  • Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude at all times
  • Ability to work varying hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Office and ability to research on the internet easily

Special Requirements:
  • Some use of personable vehicle or alternative source of transportation
  • Night and weekend availability is a priority
  • This is a nonpaid internship and is for individuals who will receive college credit
