 GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
 The Strategy and Analytics Team plays an integral role in corporate strategy, sales and marketing operations, customer experience, and innovation at the Houston Rockets and Toyota Center.  Our mission is to empower our organization to deliver championship-caliber experiences to our customers and maximize enterprise value.  We provide data-driven insights and deliver solutions that enable decision-makers and operators in all departments (Tickets, Suites, Sponsorships, 3rd Party Events) to outperform.  We are researchers and problem solvers with a passion for business, basketball, and live entertainment.

 
As a Business Analyst, you will conduct research and provide insights that inform decisions related to revenue management, sales and marketing operations, and customer experience.  You will produce actionable insights and recommendations that add value to business operations.  The day-to-day activities of this role will primarily involve forming research questions, designing surveys, performing exploratory analysis, reporting the results and takeaways, and managing the flow of data into sales and marketing campaigns.  Your areas of focus will include (but are not limited to): 
 Revenue Management (50%)
·         Track inventory and estimate potential value for ticketing, premium, sponsorship, and merchandise offerings
·         Provide recommendations for optimal pricing, product mix, and bundling to increase utilization and yield
·         Forecast monthly and year-end performance across all business units and offerings
Sales and Marketing Strategy (30%)
·         Develop and execute marketing strategies in conjunction with marketing team to acquire new customers and profiles
·         Derive customer segments based on profile, engagement, and purchases and analyze lifecycle and lifetime value for all members
·         Develop and execute sales strategies in conjunction with sales teams to sell tickets, premium, sponsorships, merchandise, and other offerings
·         Optimize strategies by evaluating performance of campaigns, content, and offers against customer segments
 Business Research (20%)
·         Manage schedule of all in-house and NBA-sponsored research efforts and data products 
·         Document insights, strategies, campaigns, results, best practices, and educational resources (Confluence)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, economics, finance, business administration, or a related field.  Advanced degree a plus.
·         2-5 years of experience in consulting, finance, accounting, or marketing is preferred.
·         Background in quantitative analysis, business intelligence, revenue management, sales and marketing enablement, and market research a plus.
·         Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
·         Working knowledge of Tableau, SQL, and Salesforce.com a plus
·         Demonstrate leadership and self-motivation, owning projects from start to finish
·         Work with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
·         Multi-task and prioritize tasks across different projects
·         Communicate and collaborate effectively with teammates and stakeholders
 
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
·         The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
·         The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
·         The employee must be available on certain nights and weekends based on the demands of sports and live entertainment schedules.
·         The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
·         The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
