Overview
Job Title: Vice President of Events & Booking, Fiserv Forum & Deer District
Class: Full-time Exempt
Reports to: General Manager, Fiserv Forum & Deer District
Location: Arena

Summary:
The VP of Events and Booking, Fiserv Forum & Deer District oversees operational performance of events in Fiserv Forum and the Deer District, which is a preeminent sports and entertainment arena located in downtown Milwaukee.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as key contributor to the growth and profitability of the business, with strategic direction of event related sales and bookings in Fiserv Forum and surrounding Deer District.
  • Analyze operational performance of the company and its staff to meet objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
  • Establish and implement current & long-term objectives for event sales and bookings of all private, public, and ticketed events.
  • Delegate daily responsibilities to directors, managers, associates, and coordinators within event sales and bookings.
  • Enthusiastically promotes the use of all event spaces in conjunction with marketing representatives to increase utilization.
  • Provides final presentation of all contracts and agreements with promoters, organizers, agents, band managers, and industry professionals.
  • Manage the development of the annual operating calendar, activity schedules, projections for attendance and/or revenue.
  • Conduct weekly sales and booking department staff meetings.
  • Operate seamlessly with the premium sales and service team to increase revenue for every show and event.
  • Directly accountable for sales goals, budgeting and profitability of event sales and booking.
  • Build and maintain positive customer/client relations by providing efficient, quality services, and products.
  • Represent the organization and promote its objectives at official functions or delegate representatives to do so.
  • Prepare and manage department budgets for approval, including those for funding and implementation of programs.
  • Any additional duties assigned.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the daily supervision of the sales and booking staff.
    • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding & disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, sports management, marketing, hospitality, food & beverage related field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum 8 years of experience within the Entertainment Industry in a senior level managerial position.
  • Experience organizing/booking/operating concerts, family shows, and sports tournaments & events at an Amphitheater, Arena, Stadium, or an active commercial theater.
  • Experience working with convention & visitors bureau, regional sports commissions, and/or regional event management booking in an NBA venue or similar.
  • Operational knowledge of risk management, kitchen, entertainment, and sports clubs, as well as parties, corporate events, team building, and leadership development.
  • Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight.
 
Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent communication, organization, supervisory and people skills.
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information.
  • Ability to work simultaneously with a broad variety of vested interest groups and foster a cooperative environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices used in the successful management of entertainment facilities or similar description.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and implement immediate corrective action.
  • Ability to perform effectively under significant pressure typically associated with meeting the demands and timetables of the entertainment industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of event solicitation and presentation, public relations, advertising & media relations, and event planning.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety regulations and other federal/state/local laws and regulations.
  • Strong orientation towards hospitality/customer service for the meeting, convention, and entertainment industry.
  • Ability to deal effectively with human resource and personnel problems; deal constructively with conflict; to motivate, provide counsel and implement applicable solutions.
