Job Title: Business Data Analyst
Department: Business Analytics & Strategy
Reports to: Director, Business Analytics & Strategy

Position Summary:
The Business Data Analyst will develop data integrations, quantitative analyses, metrics, and dashboards to drive key strategic and revenue generating business initiatives, providing data and reporting to inform decision-making on a variety of business areas including ticketing, sponsorship research, broadcast, and ad-hoc analyses. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing presentations as well as the ability to perform rigorous data analysis.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Perform advanced modeling on large data sets, interpret, and provide key takeaways in support of business objectives
  • Design engaging dashboards and other key metric reporting tools used by internal stakeholders for decision making purposes
  • Lead as primary point of contact for data integrations designed to provide value to our fans and drive revenues; create and manage data sources and integrate with potential APIs
  • Analyze primary and secondary ticketing data to provide actionable pricing insight
  • Perform revenue forecasting and trend analysis on ticket sales
  • Partner with Ticketing to develop fan outreach strategy to ensure season ticket member satisfaction
  • Provide research and insights for corporate partnerships business development
  • Analyze and visualize broadcast trends, providing key insights and takeaways for internal stakeholders
  • Engage in story telling using data and analytics to internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in strategic projects and assist in timely execution of project goals and deadlines
  • Research and keep up to date on industry trends regarding database management, lead acquisition, customer segmentation, and related technological advancements
  • Champion data quality, data accuracy, and data-driven decision making within the organization through quality control standards and checks for data and reporting
  • Ensure timely submission of league reporting 
  • Perform range of ad-hoc analyses in support of key business initiatives

Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in finance, economics, marketing, statistics, information systems, computer science, or a related field.

Required Technology Capabilities: 
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI (required)
  • Experience with a SQL/database toolset and relational databases
  • Experience with a data science toolkit (Python, R, etc.)

Preferred Technology Capabilities:
  • Microsoft Dynamics and PowerBI
  • Ticketmaster Archtics, Veritix AXS, or other ticketing database
  • Database software such as Microsoft SQL Server, Azure 
  • Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with a third-party demographic data tool (SMG/YouGov, Nielsen)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PSQL
  • Advanced understanding of regression, modeling and forecasting
  • Understanding of data warehouse management
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Possess strong technical, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter, able to simultaneously manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize workload, and own deliverables from start to finish
  • Creative mindset with an ability to identify ways to leverage existing assets for new business.
  • Display strong initiative and self-motivation
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, urgent project environment
  • Familiarity working with large data sets and relational tables
  • Ability to articulate complex business findings into easy to understand concepts
  • Strong quantitative, business, and modeling skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully design and implement cross-functional projects
