The Cleveland Cavaliers Marketing team is dedicated to developing breakthrough, engaging marketing initiatives and delivering the highest levels of Customer service and championship experiences to our Fans each and every day. In addition to developing and executing marketing strategies for The Cavs, our team also supports The Cleveland Monsters, Canton Charge, Cleveland Gladiators, and Quicken Loans Arena events. We are seeking a Manager of Marketing Strategy to join our team of sincerely passionate, extremely motivated and highly energized marketers.
The Manager, Marketing Strategy proactively supports Cleveland Cavaliers Marketing team efforts by managing a diverse number of projects including strategic initiative planning, ticket sales marketing strategies, and activation of all Cavaliers theme nights.  The successful candidate also leads  team projects, performs general administrative duties, and provides overall support of partner properties, including the Cleveland Monsters, Canton Charge, Cleveland Gladiators, and Quicken Loans Arena.
MARKETING INITIATIVE LEADERSHIP
  • Develops 360-degree marketing strategies for all home-game theme nights. 
  • Leads a broad cross-functional team to bring each theme night to life across multiple channels.
  • Manages all projects on time to achieve targeted goals within stated budgets. 
  • Works with Analytics team to capture and analyze data on all key campaigns.
  • Attends all theme nights to ensure executional excellence.
WINE & GOLD UNITED MEMBERSHIP CLUB MARKETING SUPPORT
  • Works closely with Director and Wine & Gold United Membership team to develop and execute strategies to acquire, engage and retain Members.
  • Provides marketing leadership to execute key tent-pole events throughout the Membership year.
  • Leads creative development process, working directly with internal and external creative partners.
  • Works with Analytics team to capture and analyze data on all key campaigns.
  • Attends all key Wine & Gold United Membership events and programs.
SINGLE-GAME TICKET SALES STRATEGY AND CAMPAIGN SUPPORT
  • Works closely with Director and Ticket Sales team to develop and execute marketing strategies to drive ticket sales.
  • Leads creative development process, working directly with internal and external creative partners.
  • Works with Analytics team to capture and analyze data.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
  • Leads the successful planning and execution of a variety of team projects, including, but not limited to home-game theme nights, team marketing campaigns, and special events.
  • Leads the planning, coordination, and activation of event nights. 
ENTERPRISE THINKING
  • Supports the overall objectives of the organization, including the growth and success of all partner companies, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Monsters, Canton Charge, Cleveland Gladiators, and Quicken Loans Arena.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages administrative duties related to key projects, including setting up meetings, making copies, running errands, and other similar tasks.
  • Fulfills additional assignments as needed by the Director of Marketing Strategy and the Marketing leadership team.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years professional marketing experience.
  • Must be highly creative yet analytical, extremely organized, and have strong project management skills. (Knowledge of MS Project or similar tool preferred).
  •  Must be laser-focused on open communication, relationship-building, and teamwork.
  • Must have strong creative and business writing abilities and a working knowledge of marketing strategy development, channel activation opportunities, and the creative development process.
  • Must be creative and idea-oriented and must be able to concisely communicate marketing strategies through creative briefs. 
  • Must exhibit strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to run effective cross-functional team meetings; driving decisions and alignment through such meetings.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and both communicate and meet tight deadlines on a continual basis. 
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of NBA basketball and sports in general.
