I. SUMMARY

Under general direction and supervision, this position is responsible for initiating, developing and maintaining relationships with domestic and international tourism bureaus, agencies, hotel concierges and travel professionals to market and drive ticket sales for Barclays Center, Brooklyn Nets, New York Islanders, NYCB Live and Long Island Nets to New York’s tourism market.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain close professional relationships with domestic and international tourism companies, agencies and professionals and drive new business opportunities through immersion in the tourism industry.
• Set-up meetings with key decision makers at travel agencies, hotels, tourism companies etc. and deliver persuasive pitches that demonstrate the value of the experiences that BSE can give their clients.
• Generate new group sales business through tourists/tourist groups by focusing on partnerships with travel companies and agents.
• Manage and assist in the management of tourism tour operator accounts to maximize revenue through strategic planning, on-going face to face meetings, phone calls, location visits, training, hosting of FAM tours, entertaining in-game, etc. 
• Handle the entire sales pipeline from start to finish; actively prospect and research new travel/tourism leads, establish qualified leads, and close sales in-person or over the phone.
• Achieve and exceed both monthly and yearly sales goals.
• Develop and maintain relationships with tourism ticket partner’s year round through off site meetings, trainings and evaluations. 
• Attend and participate in industry events and associations on a regular basis. 
• Manage monthly concierge incentive program. 
• Schedule and execute concierge training on a monthly basis for program partners including on-site training, tradeshows as well as game day Concierge Workshops.
• Assist in the creative concepts of Group Sales materials including brochures, flyers, and all other support materials.
• Execute regular offsite hotel/location blitzes, training sessions, collateral distribution/deliveries, etc. to ensure all partners are equipped with the knowledge and materials needed to maximize sales.
• Provide exemplary customer service to clients and guests.
• Use innovation and creativity to think of the next big group idea.
• Effectively utilize CRM to track all account activity
• Participate in special projects/project team(s) as assigned, to support department objectives.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree 
• 5 + years of experience working in tourism sales and/or marketing

B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 
• Demonstrates a strong sense of self-awareness and emotional intelligence
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and use upmost discretion when privy to sensitive information
• Demonstrates good decision-making and problem solving skills while maintaining interpersonal effectiveness
• Be self-directed with the ability to work independently
• Must be a hands-on, flexible and reliable team member, both within own department and within company as a whole
• Demonstrates strong, effective communication skills (verbal, nonverbal, and written) as well as active listening skills
• Must possess a strong ability to manage one’s own time and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives
• Must have the ability to maintain an impeccable professional appearance
• Experience working with database applications
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and related software skills

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS

A. Travel Requirements
Occasional Traveler (25% travel): The incumbent may be required to travel in and out of market. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home.

B. Work Environment
The incumbent primarily works in an office environment, however is expected to attend some games as well as other Barclays Center events as needed.
