I. SUMMARY
The Senior Director, Sports Booking will work with the SVP of Programming in fostering revenue generating opportunities at Barclays Center, Nassau Coliseum NYCB Live and other affiliated properties. The incumbent must have a proven track record of developing, cultivating, and maintaining strong sports & entertainment industry relationships, and booking high profile events, particularly in the sports genre. S/he must be a self-starter with superior communication skills and strong independent reasoning and problem solving skills. This position plays a vital role in the company’s growth, therefore, the incumbent must be able to anticipate needs, think proactively and suggest new ways to contribute to the department and organization’s mission, while maintaining a positive attitude. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between the venue(s) and promoters, agents, and managers.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Proactively meet with top content providers including agents, managers, promoters, record labels, television networks, radio stations, movie studios, technology companies, event producers, sports-related organizations, and other potential partners to source leads and further cultivate industry relationships.
• Research and analyze the market competition to identify emerging event opportunities, show viability, risk factors, risk events as well as provide strategic input on programming decisions. Maintain knowledge of current industry and market trends.
• Work with SVP to manage and distribute venue calendars in conjunction with venue event managers, ensuring maximum usage and profitability. 
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships within the industry, and utilize those contacts to advance the Barclays Center and Nassau Coliseum sports business franchises. 
• Conduct calls with potential clients to discuss the booking of Nassau Coliseum, Barclays Center, and other affiliated properties.
• Understand venue/show budgets and create pro formas which will guide programming decisions. Negotiate performance and rental agreements. Oversee associated contracts and financial settlements. Manage paperwork and all files for confirmed events.
• Work with SVP to create and implement programming strategies. 
• Coordinate with the Marketing department to build marketing materials for venue presentations used to promote to colleges, boxing promoters and other sport properties.
• Communicate and collaborate with production, operations and events teams (internal and external) from show confirmation to completion. Ensure that concerts are advanced properly, that contractual and event requirements are fulfilled within approved budgets and that all show elements are executed successfully.
• Communicate and collaborate with marketing, PR & ticketing teams (internal and external), ensuring accurate ticketing set up and successful on sales as well as the creation and execution of marketing plans that result in the achievement of sales goals. 
• Handle special requests for clients, which may include tickets to games and/or other arena events, merchandise, gifts, etc.
• Attend arena events to facilitate relationship building and provide support to the Programming department, which may include welcoming distinguished guests and facilitating a hospitable environment. 
• Perform other duties as assigned by EVP Programming from time to time
III. QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential functions of this position. Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Sports Management or hospitality required
• Must possess a proven track record with regard to booking premium events
• Experience working in either the entertainment industry, sports or venues required 
• 8-10 years experience in a related field
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 
• Must have flexibility to work late hours, early mornings and/or weekends as needed;
• Must have strong independent thinking, reasoning and problem-solving skills;
• Must possess strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills;
• Must have an uncompromised ability to protect the confidentiality and privacy of others in addition to company documents and records when privy to sensitive information;
• Must maintain an impeccable professional appearance;
• Must have strong communication skills: must be comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills;

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS

B. Travel Requirements
Infrequent Traveler (10% travel): The incumbent may be required to travel on a limited basis. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
