The Hawks Operations Sustainability Coordinator will be responsible for assuring the quality of State Farm Arena’s 24/7 zero waste and sustainability operations.  The Coordinator will ensure all infrastructure is staged properly and timely before and after events.  The Hawks utilize various types of waste infrastructure (bins, carts, hoppers, compactors, etc.) depending on the material stream and the location of generation.  All waste infrastructure must be tracked and maintained. The Coordinator’s role will require the following duties and qualifications:

  •  Maintaining inventory of waste infrastructure.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of waste infrastructure when necessary.
  • Communicating and documenting waste data (level of fullness, hauling requirements, infrastructure locations, inventory requirements, etc.).
  • Staging different types of waste infrastructure around the Arena prior to events.
  • Transporting waste infrastructure outside to be hauled after events.
  • Utilize equipment to move waste within Arena.
  •  Sort Arena-generated waste as needed.
  • Transport donations or sorted waste to local end markets (CHaRM, Goodwill, etc.).
  • Transporting people in and out of the Arena (volunteers, sub-contractors, etc.).
  • Lead small teams of workers to complete various tasks around the facility.
  • Utilize work order tracking software to keep track of and report the status of tasks; including pre-and post-event scheduled tasks, and responding to event-related requests as they arise.
  • Must be able to work efficiently and problem-solve on the go; task prioritization is key.
  • Communicate with leads and managers and clarify instructions if you have questions.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Be able to take direction from managers/supervisors and event managers.
  • Be able to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment (up to 100 lbs).
  • Must be able to work a non-standard schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be motivated to work.
  • Must work well with others, including other departments.
  • Must be unaffected by getting your hands dirty and going through the trash from time to time (PPE will be provided).
