GROUP SALES INTERN

Job Title: Intern, Group Sales
Reports To:  Director of Group Sales
Department:  Group Sales
Employee Type: Seasonal
Status Type:  Part-Time
FLSA:  Non-Exempt
Compensation: Hourly rate
Rate Range:  $7.25/hour
 
Job Summary:

Essential Functions:
We are looking for an enthusiastic group sales intern to provide excellent customer service to our patrons.  A group sales intern is mixes sales and set up operations. The ideal candidate is warm, easy to talk to, a problem solver, goal oriented, driven, and well versed in leaving every guest with a positive experience.  The candidate will be able to generate sales, connect with ticket holders, quickly and effectively set up group areas, and represent the Birmingham Barons in the community.  
 
Responsibilities: 
-  Excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of quality and cleanliness
-  Strong communication and problem solving skills 
-  High attention to detail 
-  Ability to work in a high paced environment
-  Electronic and computer proficiency
-  Ability to maintain a neat, clean & professional appearance
-  Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot
 
Duties:
-  Actively seek new clients and maintain working relationships
-  Answers questions concerning group sales, game times, game delays or rainchecks
-  Assist in physical setup/breakdown of all Barons-related events as needed
-  Learn property layout to become capable of directing any guests, contractors, personnel throughout the stadium
-  Fill reservations for groups by telephone
-  Perform as mascot in community events around the Birmingham region as scheduled
-  Personally interact with fans and patrons you encounter
-  Pull tarp
 
Qualifications:
-  TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) Required
 
General Physical Requirements:
-  Ability to lift 25lbs up to 50lbs
-  Ability to push/pull 50lbs to 100lbs  
-  Ability to stand for up to 5+ hours during a game 
-  Ability to work long hours, weekends & holidays
-  Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including but not limited to rain and heat
-  Ability to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, food quality and cleanliness
