Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park is home to both Citadel College baseball and the Low A Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. The turf is Latitude 36 Bermudagrass and was installed in November 2018. This internship will run from January/February to September.  There is flexibility in start/end dates to accommodate school schedules.

Job Description:
This position reports directly to the Head Groundskeeper.
The Turf Management Intern is responsible for assisting in all aspects of field maintenance including but not limited to:
  • Mound, bullpen, and home plate repair, and infield skin prep Mowing, edging, aerification, fertilization, topdressing, verticutting, sweeping
  • -Setup and teardown of batting practice for all Citadel and minor league games, and for any additional events/high school games.
  • Field prep/cleanup before and after all games and extra events (corporate bp, concerts, festivals, etc.)

  • Preferred candidates are currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a 2 or 4 year program for Turf Management, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field. 
  • Candidates must be willing to work long hours, including nights and weekends, and be able to work in any weather conditions.
