The Organization
The RiverDogs are nationally recognized as one of the top organizations in professional sports, gaining notoriety for unique promotions, outrageous food and beverage items, and excellent customer service. The RiverDogs strive to provide a diverse fanbase with a memorable and highly entertaining experience at each of its 66 home games and many other events at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in downtown Charleston.

The RiverDogs offer several full-time internships, which start in mid-March (if not sooner) and go through the end of August. These are unpaid positions, which can be completed for college credit. These internships include long hours, typically from 10am-11pm on game days, 10am-5pm on non-game days, and other events as assigned. These internships are designed to provide interns with insight into the entire scope of a minor league baseball operation.

Primary Duties:
  • General Internship responsibilities for event set-up, grassroots marketing and other task
  • Assist in the daily operation of the ballpark Team Store.
  • Maintain store inventory based on sales, client relations needs and operate the front end retail point of sale register
  • Become familiar with the Square software program and assist with purchasing, receiving, & reporting.
  • Help manage the inventory storage area in an organized and accessible way.
  • Fill in with game day Team Store duties when necessary including kiosk sales and merchandise hawking
  • Assist in keeping the Team Store clean, organized, & fully stocked
  • Assist with online Team Store fulfillment, customer follow-up, and online inventory           management.
  • Suggest and implement daily Team Store social media pushes.
  • Suggest weekly online Team Store Campaigns
