The Sports Turf Senior Supervisor is responsible for maintaining all playing surfaces and common areas at Ripken Stadium and the Ripken Academy to the highest professional standards.  The ten playing fields must reflect Major League Baseball quality in safety and playability always.   The position will require professionalism in appearance, attitude, and job performance.  This is not an introductory role or an entry-level position.  This person should come to the table a leader, having managed their own department or cared for their own field.  This position is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate looking to work in the Sports Turf industry.  Great job for those who are seeking a career in the Sports Turf Management field.


  • Maintain and repair infield skin surfaces
  • Maintain and repair mound and plate areas
  • Perform Water/moisture management, irrigation repair; perform Drainage repair and maintenance
  • Identify internal and external customer needs and service accordingly with pride and a positive attitude
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to Sports Turf Superintendent
  • Plan and implement responsible Integrated Pest Management program
  • Qualifications:
  • Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Turf or related field
  • 1-2 years of performing similar work, in a sports environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate required equipment; riding/standing mowers, tractors, etc.
  • Ability to work and think independently and act with sound judgment 
  • Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays per needs of the business
  • Preferred:

  • 1+ years’ experience in professional baseball

Working Conditions / Special Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/move heavy items of 50 lbs. or more
  • Will be exposed to extreme heat and inclement weather 
  • Must be in good physical condition in order to perform this job
