This position provides a unique opportunity to manage two essential components of the event experience: onsite merchandise sales and gate operations. The Illinois Onsite Gate/Merch Sales Manager oversees staffing, planning, inventory management, and setup logistics for all Perfect Game events throughout the Illinois region. The role is focused on maximizing operational efficiency while ensuring every customer receives the high-quality experience that defines Perfect Game events.

Key Responsibilities

·      Plan and execute merchandise setup and sales operations across all event complexes in the Illinois region.

·      Manage inventory tracking and performance analysis, including sales history, regional demand, and event-specific trends.

·      Oversee and reconcile weekly sales reporting for both merchandise and gate operations.

·      Monitor, track, and report operational KPIs to measure performance and identify improvement opportunities.

·      Develop and deliver training materials and operational guidelines for event staff, tailored to regional logistics and event workflows.

·      Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, planning strategies, and team efficiency.

·      Coordinate and manage staffing to ensure all gates are properly staffed for events requiring in-person gate operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·      Understanding of apparel or merchandise sales operations.

·      Knowledge of event operations and logistics.

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, and analysis.

·      Ability to manage complex situations and solve operational challenges effectively.

·      Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

·      Ability to exercise sound independent judgment while recognizing the financial impact of business decisions.

Education and Experience Requirements

·      Bachelor’s degree in business or sports management

·      Experience in the sports industry or merchandising preferred

·      Sales experience preferred

·      Demonstrated leadership or management experience is preferred.

·      Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
