The Social Media Manager is responsible for administration of social media accounts for the Omaha Storm Chasers and Union Omaha including planning campaigns, creating original content, coordinating content created by others, managing posts and managing each channel’s community.  
  • Coordinate, plan, document, communicate, and execute social media strategy and design of social media accounts with Director of Marketing and Communications that aligns and promotes company organizational goals
  • Coordinate, plan, and execute content release strategies to maximize content created by the media relations team
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all finished pieces, including proofreading and necessary sponsor inclusion 
  • Perform research on current benchmarks trends and audience preferences
  • Research current trending digital technologies and social media trends
  • Research other teams in MiLB, MLB, USL, and other leagues to find new initiatives that can help grow our brands
  • Coordinate specific objectives and reporting on ROI with Director of Marketing and Communications
  • Generate, edit, publish and share unique and engaging content – both scheduled and spontaneous – for all platforms
  • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely, accurate manner
  • Monitor customer reviews and communicate areas of improvement needed to appropriate personnel
  • Collaborate with marketing department personnel on effective use of other marketing applications such as StellarAlgo or FanCompass
  • Manage or assist in managing paid social media advertising and broader digital advertising campaigns 
  • Coordinate design and scheduling of large e-mail marketing campaigns as well as information e-mails to current ticket holders and sponsors
  • Assist with website maintenance
  • Monitor SEO as well as web and social media traffic metrics
  • Coordinate activities as needed with MLB and/or USL
  • Brainstorm and collaborate with other marketing personnel to continue fresh and innovative ways to express company views and branding creatively; even for projects outside of social media specific executions 
  • Represent the organization at in-house ballpark events and off-site community events promoting ticket sales and the organization
  • Provide engaged customer service and care to all customers and prospects
  • Work with the front office team to achieve the objectives of the advertising sales, marketing, tickets, and community relations departments
  • Other duties as assigned 

Game Day Responsibilities: 
  • Manage pregame, in-game, postgame and event social media posts on all appropriate channels 
  • Actively engage with followers on social media as appropriate
  • Assist other departments when necessary

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Marketing, Journalism, Mass Media, Advertising, Public Relations or related field preferred
  • Proven work experience as a social media manager
  • Ability to deliver creative content
  • Solid knowledge of all social media platforms
  • Experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite or similar creative software
  • Experience creating graphics and/or video for social media preferred 
  • Prior experience working for a professional sports team preferred
  • Strong familiarity with baseball and soccer
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work on short notice 
  • Ability and willingness to work varied and long hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lead and collaborate in a team environment 
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills - Must work well with others at all levels of organization 
  • Proven ability to take initiative
  • Attention to detail
