Groundskeeping Internship

Job type: Part Time non-exempt; seasonal

Dates: March 1 - September 3rd

Compensation: $10.00 per hour / 30 Hour limit per week

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Groundskeeping intern is responsible for helping prepare and maintaining the field.

Including, but not limited to: preparing skinned areas, mound, plate, bullpens, batting cages and dugouts.

Responsibilities:

Assist grounds crew in daily tasks to prepare for game Ie. Mowing, watering, dragging, etc.
Assist with in-game responsibilities – dragging, base-change, tarp
Assist in any tarp pull situations throughout the day/night
Help crew with maintenance on mounds, plate area, baselines, infield, etc.

Working Conditions:

All Games & outside events
Various weather conditions
Physical labor required. Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for long hours.

Required Experience:

Candidates must be currently enrolled or recently graduated from a 2-to-4 year turfgrass program at the university level. Individuals must be hard working, motivated, and extreme attention to detail. The Baby Cakes are looking for an individual willing to take pride in their work and a desire to learn. Must be able to handle inclement weather and be able to lift 50lbs.
