JOB TITLE: Sports Science Facilitator
DEPARTMENT: Player Development

The Baltimore Orioles are seeking a Sports Science Facilitator for the 2022 Major League Baseball Championship season. This person will be responsible for aiding in obtaining, managing, and collaborating on field and in training data and assessments.
Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following:
  •   Assist in all steps of collaboration in completion of athlete management system
  •   Help collect and assess current practices in body composition, mobility assessments, vision, and speed 
  •   Organize and support staff in organizing and carrying out workload management systems
  •   Assist Sports Medicine team in analyzing and implementing relevant data in return to play and aid in quality programs
  •   Help to build reports disseminated to front office, staff, coaches, and players to better utilize data to aid in evaluation and decision-making processes
  •   Work with Strength and Conditioning and Sports Medicine staff to visualize and evaluate changes in players throughout their year/career
  •   Coordinate the bridge of data between sports medicine and strength and conditioning, along with other departments when applicable, to improve its efficiency and improve collaboration
  •   Responsible for vendor/tech partnership for any user difficulties or app/cloud malfunctions 
  •   Update rosters and other information in tech apps
  •   Assist sports medicine team with vision assessments and reassessments
  •   Assist other members of player development with the collecting, interpreting, and implementing of biomechanical and kinematic sequence data
  •   Support player development with connecting dots of game data to relevant technologies and training data
  •   Help the organization take next steps in readiness and sleep practices
  •   Strong desire to build a system to help Sports Medicine and Performance staffs make better decisions and deliver quality product to the player
  •   Master’s degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology or related field (or working towards)
  •   Familiar with GPS, VBT, Nordbord, Trackman, force plate, motion capture data and technologies 
  •   Willingness to collaborate and work as a valuable member in of the sports medicine and performance team
  •   Have experience and understanding of sports rehabilitation programs
  •   Working knowledge in baseball
  •   Data analysis abilities
  •   Some level of knowledge and ability to communicate with experts on coding
  •   Working knowledge of excel, CSV
  •   Hardworking mentality, growth mindset, and someone who wants to build an organized system 
  •   Exercises high quality in the obtainment and use of data
