Public Relations Internship

The Baltimore Orioles are seeking applications for an internship position in the Public Relations department. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Electronically compiling press clips from local and national media outlets each morning for office distribution.
  •  Responding to phone and mail inquiries from media and general public.
  • Researching statistics in response to department needs or media inquiries.
  • Writing a daily summary of minor league system highlights, assisting with the daily game lineup sheets and post-game notes.
  • Editing and writing for various team publications, including Orioles Magazine, daily.
  • game notes and press releases.
  • Assisting with social media initiatives.

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
Outgoing personality and able to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, including media, general public, fans and players.

  • Superior writing skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of baseball and the Orioles organization.
  • Prior experience with a sports team or college sports information department is preferred.
  • Ability to commit long hours to the position throughout the summer.
