JOB TITLE: Player Performance Coordinator                                                                             
DEPARTMENT:  Sports Medicine & Performance
JOB SUMMARY:   The Player Performance Coordinator will serve a critical role in the Orioles’ organization-wide player development and performance efforts by combining information streams to optimize individual players’ development and health.  The Coordinator will work closely with major and minor league coaches, the sports medicine department, strength coaches, and the front office.  The position will be based in either Baltimore, MD or the Orioles’ training facility in Sarasota, FL.





PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Primary duties to include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Facilitate communication between key stakeholders across inter-related functional areas (Player Development, Sports Medicine, Strength & Conditioning) to develop and troubleshoot individualized player development plans.
  • Collect and track individual athlete metrics and KPI’s and developing and maintaining systems for digitally storing and maintaining such information.
  • Ensure on-the-ground implementation of player-specific programs in conjunction with members of the coaching, medical and strength/conditioning staffs in the major and minor leagues.
  • Help the organization stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in the performance realm.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays while participating in a typical baseball travel schedule.
  • 5+ years’ work experience, preferably in the field of sports science and performance professional, international or college sports, or related research fields.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills, and experience managing and solving problems within a large and diverse group of professional experts.
  • Advanced degree(s) and/or certifications in physical therapy, athletic training, strength & conditioning, kinesiology, sports science, and related fields are strongly desired.
