JOB TITLE:                            Affiliate Hitting Coach
DEPARTMENT:                  Player Development
JOB SUMMARY:               The Baltimore Orioles are seeking a full-time Hitting Coach for the 2020 Major League Baseball Championship season.  This position will serve as a uniformed coach with the responsibility of executing the organization’s hitting philosophy and individual player plans at one of our seven minor league affiliates.
Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following:
  • Design and execute daily hitting practice plans 
  • Collaborate with hitting coordinator to design and execute individual player plans
  • Collaborate with medical and strength coaches to identify and correct movement deficiencies
  • Utilize analytical tools and data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and development opportunities
  • Assist manager, developmental, and fourth coach in daily on-field practice
  • Will work out of Twin Lakes Park in Sarasota, FL during spring training
  • Will work out of the affiliate and travel with the team for all games during the season
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills
  • Appreciation for the use of data from technologies such as Trackman, Blast Motion, Rapsodo, and K-Vest
  • Appreciation for functional movement and biomechanical development
  • Intrinsically motivated, reliable, and a growth mindset
  • Former collegiate or professional playing experience
  • Spanish Proficiency
  • Technical Degree
