JOB TITLE:                            Developmental Coach
DEPARTMENT:                  Player Development
JOB SUMMARY:               The Baltimore Orioles are seeking a full-time Developmental Coach for the 2020 Major League Baseball Championship season.  This position will entail the merging of on-field coaching with the implementation of technology and data to develop and execute individual player plans on a daily basis at one of our seven minor league affiliates.
Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following:
  • Manage the usage of technology and daily synthesis of data collected
  • Monitor the creation, execution, and documentation of individual player plans
  • Create visuals and analytical tools to incorporate in the coaching of players
  • Create advanced scouting reports using analytical tools and data
  • Assist manager, hitting, pitching, and fourth coach in daily on-field practice
  • Work directly with players to understand the data and technology being used
  • Will work out of Twin Lakes Park in Sarasota, FL during spring training
  • Will work out of the affiliate and travel with the team for all games during the season
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills
  • Understanding of how to use and interpret data from technologies such as Trackman, Blast Motion, Rapsodo, and K-Vest
  • Desire to work with both coaches and players on and off the field
  • Intrinsically motivated, reliable, and a growth mindset
  • Basic understanding of SQL
  • Spanish proficiency
  • Bachelor’s Degree
