The St. Cloud Rox Baseball Club is seeking an enthusiastic individual for a Community Relations Internship for the summer of 2018. The Rox are a proud member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has over 180 alumni who have gone on to play Major League Baseball. The Rox had nearly 60,000 fans attend games during the 2017 season. During their first six seasons of existence, the club has been at or near the top of the Northwoods League’s North Division in attendance while creating an environment that is entertaining for families of Central Minnesota.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Reports directly to Community Relations Director. This position starts in early/mid May and ends mid/late August)
· Coordinates community events with players, coaches and mascot
o Works with local libraries, Boys & Girls Club, nursing homes and hospitals to set up player/mascot appearances
o Schedules Rox coaches. players and mascot for community appearances
o Works with local youth baseball leagues to set up clinics with the team (Confirms location and number of kids in each clinic with community education or youth baseball coordinator in respective towns)
o Coordinates transportation of players and coaches to each community appearance
(Takes pictures, hands out giveaways, etc. at appearances)
· Coordinates Rox appearances in local parades throughout the summer months
o Researches local parade dates, entry fees, etc.
o Drives the Rox vehicle in each parade with a team of interns handing out pocket schedules as well as other information
o Helps distribute 100,000 pocket schedules throughout Central Minnesota
· Help with Social Media Campaigns
o Works with Media Intern to provide community engagement photos/graphics for website and social media
· Help Coordinate Rox Kids Club – updating member roster, distributing shirts/tickets, organizing Kids Club events
o Work in ticket office to help answer phone calls, sell tickets, etc.
o Ballpark Set Up
§ Set up and manage Fan Services table
§ Assists Rox staff to set up the ballpark for upcoming games
§ Suites, Merchandise stands, ticket booth, giveaway items, picnic areas, etc.
§ Wipes down seating bowl prior to gates opening
o Help Promotions Team with organizing and executing promotions
o Helps distribute coupons to fans after the game
o Helps organize and store all stools, chairs, tables, merchandise, umbrellas, etc. on suites and deck for the next game

- Ability to work some nights, weekends, and potential holidays
- Succeed in a team environment
- Some heavy lifting may apply

- Strong social media knowledge
