The Eugene Emeralds are seeking an enthusiastic and responsible individual to serve as the Mascot Performer for Community Events. This candidate will also be a member of our Community Relations team for the 2020 season. The position provides a great opportunity to interact with fans and learn about the operations of a professional sports team by working home games and various events. This internship will play a vital role in the execution of the Reading program, grassroots marketing, and development of theme nights, game day and community events.

Timeframe:

January to September
Hours are subject to change based on need and season

Responsibilities/Essential functions

Individual will have a desire to perform in front of an audience
Friendly and charismatic personality, while maintaining a professional demeanor
Work alongside Community Relations Director aiding with community appearance and events
Assist with Sluggo’s Home Run Reading Program
Assist with creative planning and execution of theme nights (game day skits, props, videos)
Maintain organization of mascot room and cleanliness of costumes
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous mascot or entertainment experience preferred
Must be able to interact with fans in an energetic and professional manner
Must have a desire to perform in front of an audience
Must be physically capable of performing a character in the heat
Strong organization, planning and implementation skills
