Program/Role Description:
Three positions will be available as part of the Hops Broadcast/Video Production Crew: Replay Operator, Broadcast Graphics Operator, and Camera Operator(s). Each position will be hired on a game-to-game basis and all crew members will report to Hops front office staff and/or the Technical Director.

The Hops are looking for different tiers of crew members to fill these positions. Those with professional experience will be given top priority, but the Hops are also looking for college students and high school students that have live production experience and an interest in learning more about sports broadcast production.Â

The Replay Operator and the Broadcast Graphics Operator will be interchangeable with the ideal candidates. The Replay Operator will work as the primary replay producer, providing instant replay for both the MiLB.tv broadcast stream and the in-house scoreboard presentation. Additionally, the Replay Operator will be tasked with flagging important highlights throughout the game and producing them quickly for our Public Relations department to use for social media and post-game video highlights.

The Broadcast Graphics Operator will primarily work to produce and update graphics used on the MiLB.tv broadcast stream. This will include, but not be limited to: the scoreboard ticker, lower thirds including stats for batters, pitcher graphics, defensive alignments, sponsor logos, and more.

Camera Operators will be tasked with filming throughout the game, for both the broadcast and the video board show, in either stationary or mobile locations as assigned by Hops staff and/or Technical Director.

 Requirements:Â
- Previous experience working in live event production
- Preferred experience working in sports production
- Strong knowledge of broadcast equipment, software, and/or camera operating skills
- Strong knowledge of baseball and how baseball broadcasts should be presented
- Preferred experience working with Black Magic, Envivo Replay & ChyronHego equipment/software
- Comfort operating cameras as neededÂ

Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Technical Director to produce the MiLB.tv broadcast stream
- Work as the Replay Operator or Graphics Operator as assigned, but have availability to work either position as neededÂ
- Assist the in-house video board operator with replays and graphics as needed
- Assist the Hops Public Relations department with replays and graphics as needed
- Prepare graphics (lower thirds, player graphics, stats) prior to the start of the game
- Communicate via internal intercom system with the technical director as needed
- Archive replays, graphics, and highlights as neededÂ

Preferences:
- Availability to work most (if not all) games throughout the season
- Willingness to teach/mentor younger professionals/students interested in working in broadcast production
- Baseball Knowledge – understand the game, in-game situations and the power of storytelling through a broadcastÂ

Qualifications:
- Ideal candidates will have at least one year of either professional, collegiate experience or high school experience operating the needed broadcast equipment / software.
- Strong, diligent, and detail-oriented production skills are heavily preferred, as is experienced with post-production.
- Additionally, candidates will need to have a positive attitude, unwavering work ethic, and an eagerness to contribute to a fun, fast-moving work atmosphereÂ
 Time Frame/Work Schedule (Present– Mid-September 2022):
Production crew positions will run through the course of the Hillsboro Hops 2022 season. Candidates with professional experience will be expected to have availability throughout the entire season, but are not expected to work every game. College students and high school students are expected to have availability as their schedule allows throughout the spring and summer.Â
Employees will arrive at the ballpark roughly 2 hours before the scheduled time of the first pitch. This will allow for proper setup of the equipment, testing of the equipment, and provide employees an opportunity to eat before the game begins. Game times will vary but have generally started at either 6:35 pm or 7:05 pm most nights and 1:05 pm on Sundays. The team will have six-game homestands (Tuesday-Sunday) throughout the season with a pair of exceptions.
