Who we are: 
The Salem Red Sox are the Low A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox located in Salem, Virginia. We are one of the sports properties operated by Fenway Sports Management. We enjoy hosting baseball games, concerts, community events, and anything else you can think of.  We’re in the business of entertaining and we’re looking for someone who wants to join a team that works hard, works together, and has fun doing it.

Job Summary:
We are looking for someone who can create a story and engage fans both in-person and via social media.  You need to have a strong understanding of MiLB, its teams, players, history, rules, and the game of baseball. You will need to keep current with both baseball, the Red Sox, and pop culture to create content that results in a return on emotion. Graphic design experience is needed to create high quality graphics that attract users. You should know how all social media platforms operate, be naturally relatable, and have a passion for seeing other people create memories on social media and through in game promotions. 

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments to communicate, organize, and execute strategies, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Assist with the scheduling and publishing of daily content on all social media channels as well as creation, development and execution of social media campaigns
  • Post live updates to our social media platforms throughout each game
  • Monitor and engage with fans across all social media platforms
  • Help identify new opportunities to maximize the Red Sox social media brand and Track analytics for each social media channel
  • Assist with the execution of community appearances involving players and/or mascots
  • Work events assisting with live social media coverage and capturing moments for use in future materials
  • Help schedule and coordinate National Anthem Singers, First Pitches, and pregame performances
  • Assist with pregame entertainment and giveaways
  • Assist with between innings entertainment 
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software applications
  • In-depth knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have high energy, be enthusiastic, and willing to be EMCEE for on-field promotions if needed
  • Adapts to change in a fast past work environment 
  • Ability to track analytics across social and provide insights around performance is a plus

January 2022 –October 2022             
  • Monthly stipend
  • Housing is provided  

Approx Hours:         
Non-Game Days: M-F  9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Game Days: 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM
All Non-Game Day Events as scheduled
