The Production Artist will assist the Creative Team in the production of graphic materials to support marketing, advertising and branding efforts across the entire organization. Primarily, this position will support Ticket Sales and Fan Engagement efforts and maintain the continuity of the Brewers brand across all point of consumer contact. Under the direction of the Art Director, who will oversee the entirety of a project and direct the theoretical and creative direction of a piece, the Production Artist will be in the trenches making the art happen. They will collaborate with graphic designers to format artwork, make sure all graphic elements are in place prior to printing, as well as collect, process and upload files.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
With a keen eye for detail and the technical know-how to get the job done, the Production Artist will work with a variety of design programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) to make sure artwork is production-ready and projects are on time. Essential duties and responsibilities include the ability to:
  • Collaborate closely with members of the Creative Team to bring creative concepts to life
  • Responsible for designing and developing promotional and creative marketing materials to support the business goals and objectives (such as, but not limited to): 
    • Digital Display 
    • Social Media 
    • Print 
    • Outdoor 
    • Direct Mail 
    • Signage 
    • In-Stadium Graphics 
    • Promotional Items/Packaging 
    • Sales Collateral 
  • Prepare final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for release to printers, vendors and/or media partners
  • Make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready
  • Provide image retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation
  • Follow a development timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess an adept knowledge of printing processes and demonstrate strong technical ability with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. Creativity, strong typographic and layout skills, strict attention to detail, and outstanding organizational, project management, proofreading and file-organization skills are musts.

Individuals should be dedicated, have a positive attitude, strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of pro sports, specifically baseball, is a plus, though not a requirement.

Education and/or Experience
A bachelor’s degree in design or other related positions is required. Significant course work in graphic design, print production, visual arts or a related field, along with an outstanding portfolio and 1-2 years of experience that demonstrates clear knowledge of design principles and print production.
Computer Skills  
Advanced software proficiency required in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop in a Mac environment. Command of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Word. After Effects and Video Editing skills preferred, but not required.
Language Skills                                                
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills                                                     
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability      
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include heat, cold and various forms of precipitation. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Work Hours                                                     
Business hours are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5pm; however, additional hours will be required on weekends, evenings and some holidays as the project workload dictates. During the baseball season, the employee will be required to be “on call” to produce graphics to support the Club’s social media efforts, as necessary.
