Summary:  A Back of the House Team Member prepares hot and cold meals for presentation according to predetermined recipes and menus. Back of the House Team Members also monitor portions, manage inventories and maintain a sanitary kitchen work area. This position will help determine how to best achieve the goal of not only meeting the food service specifications regarding presentation of all food prepared, but exceeding the outlined commitment to quality.

  • Inspect all kitchen surfaces to ensure that all areas are safe and sanitary in accordance with food handling procedures.
  • Handle orders with a high level of professionalism and any customer complaints are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
  • Encourage cooperative and consistent levels of communication with kitchen staff, front-end staff and management.
  • Recognize potential areas of conflict and adhere to current practices and processes to maintain quality of products and services provided to the customers.
  • Prepare food as directed.
  • Season and cook food according to recipes.
  • Appropriate presentation and quality of dishes.
  • Estimate expected food consumption based on previous trends and developments.
  • Inventory, place orders and properly store, date and rotate food items.
  • Organize food storage and kitchen equipment.
  • Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs and special event needs.
  • Look for ways to enhance the quality of food preparation services including ingredient changes to promote the uniqueness of recipes.
  • Adapt to different personalities of clients, vendors and coworkers.
  • Supervise work of kitchen staff as directed by management.
  • Perform all position duties and responsibilities in accordance with standards of Brewers SOP’s and local health department.

  • Understand instructions and company memorandums.
  • Possess high professional ethics and avoid extreme familiarity or conflicts with others.
  • Understand motivational management techniques and lead coworkers using good judgement, tact and initiative through strict adherence to directions given by superiors. Knowledge of techniques and equipment for preparing and producing food for consumption, including storage and handling techniques.
Education and/or Experience
At least one year of experience in a catering or buffet style restaurant is a plus. Any experience working in a food service operation with Major League Baseball or within sports industry is also a plus.
Computer Skills  
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.              
Language Skills                                                
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  Spanish speaking preferred.
Mathematical Skills                                                     
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
Reasoning Ability      
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
