Overview

Summary The Director – Digital Marketing is responsible for developing and executing a strategic integration of Brewers brand content and marketing initiatives across all our digital channels. This position will play a major role in enhancing Brewers brand presence within the social space, as well as driving website traffic and mobile app utilization via successful implementation and management of digital marketing strategies and integrated campaigns. These campaigns will promote our brand, engage our fans, and drive sales across the business (ticket plans, single game tickets, events, retail, etc.).
 
The Director – Digital Marketing will work collaboratively with Major League Baseball as well as with internal partners (including Business Analytics, Ticket Sales, Corporate Partnerships and Information Technology) to deliver, measure and optimize content, marketing campaigns and best-in-class solutions across all digital platforms, including social media, web, SMS, email and mobile apps. This role will lead digital marketing strategy development and oversee digital marketing campaigns through execution.

  • Lead the development and execution of content plans for Brewers social media platforms, setting a standard for Brewers social and ensuring the brand voice and image are consistent 
  • Drive innovation for Brewers digital platforms to grow our audience and increase fan engagement 
  • Evaluate emerging technology platforms; provide perspective for adoption where appropriate
  • Plan and execute programs across all digital marketing platforms, including SEO/SEM, website content, email, SMS, mobile app and social media
  • Provide strategic recommendations to inform display advertising campaigns executed within the Brewers marketing team
  • Ensure creation and execution of digital content and marketing programs address the organization’s overall goals for fan engagement, sales, events, retail and other club initiatives
  • Measure and report performance of social content and all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Collaborate regularly with MLB and Business Analytics teams to assess current web analytics for data points and insights on our fan base to improve our digital marketing efforts and help the Marketing team build effective multi-channel marketing campaigns
  • Work with MLB to optimize fan interaction, usability and growth on all mobile platforms (i.e. Ballpark App) while aligned with MBBC priorities
  • Engage in research efforts to identify effective digital platforms and methods to reach a targeted audience; plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies for social, web, and mobile app adoption

  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying audience needs and devising a social experience that engages, informs and motivates
  • Proven success leading and managing content planning, social media, SEO/SEM, website management, email and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Strong data analysis skills to extract insight from reporting tools, with a willingness to be innovative, test new ideas and programs
  • Experience in optimizing digital touchpoints and user funnels
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results through collaboration and build consensus among stakeholders throughout the organization 
  • Strong writing skills and an ability to effectively communicate digital marketing strategies
  • Adaptability and ability to see the audience perspective, e.g. Brewers fan, is essential
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience in field of digital marketing required. 
 
Computer Skills  
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.     
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • Solid knowledge of social platform algorithms to optimize organic content and paid media
  • Working knowledge of ad serving tools (e.g., DART, Atlas)
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
Language Skills                                                 
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, partners, sales teams, and the general public.
 
Mathematical Skills                                                      
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
 
Reasoning Ability      
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Work Hours                                                      
Business hours are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5pm, however, additional hours will be required on weekends, evenings and some holidays.
