Internship: Internship
Thank you for your interest in an internship with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.  It is our goal to provide you with hands-on experience and knowledge useful in competing for jobs in the baseball industry, beginning with Minor League Baseball.  We will also work with you to fulfill requirements for college credit if necessary.  Our internships are a great learning opportunity where previous experience is not always necessary.
 
The Assistant Grounds Manager internship runs from March through October. The baseball season officially begins in early April.  Qualifications are based on ability, desire, work ethic and a commitment to make the most of the experience.  Internships are geared to educate about the entire business of Minor League Baseball.  
 
Timber Rattlers interns are expected to maintain a very challenging schedule throughout the internship. Interns are expected to be at all home games as well as play key roles in executing special events taking place at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.  Comp time can be earned throughout the season to help alleviate the challenging schedule.

Assistant Grounds Manager

 Job Description:
This position begins in March and runs through October. Exact dates are flexible. This intern position serves as the Assistant Groundskeeper.  This is an advanced internship designed to equip the intern with the skills to become a Head Groundskeeper.  On top of the duties performed by all interns this position serves in a leadership role for the grounds department.  This includes scheduling and hiring game day staff, leading crews, filling in for the director of grounds when needed, assisting in the budgeting process, helping develop long and short term plans for the field, and being in charge of events.
 
 Requirements:
  • Candidates must have an interest in sports field maintenance. 
  • Enrollment in or recent graduation from a two or four year turf grass, agronomy, horticulture, or soil science program is preferred, but not required.
  • Turf maintenance experience in baseball required for this advanced internship. 

Individuals must be able to:
  • Work long hours
  • Work in various weather conditions
  • Highly motivated, willing to learn, have a great attention to detail,  able to manage staff and a tremendous work ethic

 Compensation:
  • Monthly stipend based on experience.
