Position Summary:
The Miami Marlins College Sales Apprenticeship is an entry-level, after-hours seasonal sales position lasting for a period of eight weeks. The Miami Marlins seek highly motivated, coachable and passionate individuals to promote the Miami Marlins brand, and execute ticket sales for games and events at Marlins Park. The Marlins believe in career growth through extensive training, mentorship and hands-on sales experience. This program is designed to teach basic sales fundamentals while working in a professional environment. Our sales culture is built on a foundation of hard work, professional success and, most importantly, FUN. The Miami Marlins take great pride in employing individuals that represent the organization with professionalism, class and integrity, and who have a passion for achieving organizational goals. This is an opportunity to learn more about ticket sales, service and events in sports business while providing the knowledge necessary for you to break into the sports industry. Top performers from this program will be guaranteed an interview for an  Inside Sales position.

Essential Functions:
  • Cold call local residents to promote the experience of attending a baseball game at Marlins Park
  • Make a minimum of 50 phone calls per shift
  • Fulfilling customer purchases
  • Fielding general customer inquiries regarding the Miami Marlins
  • Openness to constructive feedback from Marlins sales staff with the intent to improve sales skills

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Highly self-motivated with a desire to gain hands-on sales experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Coachable and possess a positive attitude
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Must be available to work the following evenings for the 2018 season:
    • Tuesdays – 5:00PM to 9:00PM: 3/27, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22
    • Thursdays – 5:00PM to 9:00PM: 4/5, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17  
    • Saturdays – 10:00AM to 2:00PM: 4/7, 4/21, 5/5

Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
  • Eligible candidates must be currently enrolled at a four-year university
  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent required
