Job Description
 
Position Summary:  
 Operating under the direction of the Senior Director of IT, the Network Administrator is responsible for providing enterprise-wide network hardware maintenance, installations, upgrades, LAN & WAN design, maintenance and monitoring, software and firmware configurations and updates, troubleshooting and network security for wired and wireless networks. The individual must possess the skills and capability to maintain and expand the corporate networking infrastructure of the organization.
 
The role requires a thorough knowledge of hardware and networking technology, software applications, and the ability to interact and communicate with corporate personnel and technicians, strategic partners, and independent contractors. This position will analyze research and develop solutions for both ongoing issues and infrastructure needs and presenting recommendations for the enterprise.
  
Essential Functions:
  • Ensure network infrastructure operates at a 99.999% weekly uptime ratio;
  • Provide network support for the enterprise;
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot network hardware & peripherals;
  • Maintain all network equipment, switches, routers, firewall/VPN/security appliances to ensure proper firmware revision is installed and properly configured;
  • Work with the league office to manage and maintain the organization’s cybersecurity initiatives;
  • Configure and monitors network performance through available monitoring tools and may be required to make design or network configuration changes to improve network performance;
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation;
  • Maintain and update documentation of corporate systems, hardware/software processes, and IT procedures;
  • Responsible for network outage reporting and scheduled maintenance windows;
  • Ensure the highest level of network security is utilized and maintained;
  • This position, as all others within the IT department, is subject to providing support to games and events on a rotation schedule and is not limited to the baseball season. loanDepot park is a multi-use facility and the IT department provides support for all events at the ballpark. 
 
 Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Must be familiar with SNMP and be able to provide regular reports through the network management application on the following:
  • Utilization and performance monitoring for:
  • Port
  • Bandwidth
  • Protocol
  • IPS/IDS Security 
  • SMTP
  • Wi-Fi
  • Virtual environment
  • Application farm
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and have exceptional time management skills;
  • Position requires frequent interaction with corporate/field employees and operations staff;
  • Must be proficient in computer system diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair & maintenance, Active Directory, IIS, Microsoft Operating Systems, Mac OS X and Microsoft Office 365, cloud storage systems and methodologies;
  • Must have experience installing/configuring/managing routers, LAN/WAN switches, and Firewalls;
  • Ability to diagram workflow and hardware configurations with Visio;
  • Working knowledge and ability to diagnose Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS issues. Proven ability to analyze situations before taking action that might adversely affect network operation;
  • Thorough understanding of MS DFS and its deployment best practices in a corporate environment;
  • Enterprise storage knowledge;

  • Rubrik enterprise backup and recovery
  • VMWare knowledge;
  • VCenter Administration
  • ESXi6.0 and 6.5 and 6.7
  • VMFS and VMDK administration
  • vMotion, DRS and HA concepts
 
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
  • College education preferred and five years’ previous experience in a comparable position;
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of current hardware and networking technologies, software applications and the ability to manage multiple projects;
  • Network design and implementation;
  • Network performance tuning;
  • Linux/Unix experience a plus;
  • VMWare ESXi;
  • Citrix virtual desktop;
  • Working knowledge of VOIP technology and network requirements for its support;
  • Working knowledge of Cisco ASA/PIX security appliance configuration and management;
  • Cisco core and edge switches;
  • Windows Server up to 2019 and Windows Win 7/10;
  • Network certification required: (one from list or equivalent)
  • Palo Alto Panorama
  • Cisco: CCNA, CCDA, CCNP
  • Juniper: JNCP
  • HP: ASE or Master ASE
  • CompTIA: Network+, Security+
  • Working experience using popular network management tools such as:
  • CiscoWorks
  • HP Openview
  • Solarwinds
  • MRTG
  • What’s up Gold
  • ManageEngine
  • SpiceWorks
  • Network Access Control (Network Sentry/FortiNAC)
