Internship: Internship
Position Summary:  
The Youth Baseball Intern assists the Youth Baseball Department with the organization and implementation of youth baseball / softball activities in the South Florida community.  The activities focus on youth baseball programs as well as other charitable efforts.
 
Essential Functions:
MIAMI MARLINS TEE BALL INITIATIVE
  • Assist in the execution and implementation of the Tee Ball Initiative; including organizing uniforms and equipment for distribution;
  • Work closely with Youth Baseball staff to submit Brand Impact requests for special events as well as Ballpark Operations booking forms for on-site events.

YOUTH LEAGUE DAYS
  • Assist in the distribution of vouchers to leagues for their respective Youth League Days;
  • Assist in the day of game execution of Youth League Day activities.

PLAY BALL
  • Assist in the execution of MLB’s Play Ball initiative;
  • Assist in conducting the Marlins Youth Baseball Clinic Series;
  • Distribute equipment throughout the year and maintain equipment database.

RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities)
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the league; including scheduling of fields and umpires, collection of all RBI paperwork, and distribution of uniforms and equipment;
  • Assist with Marlins RBI events, such as Career Workshops and the Winter Workout;
  • Assist in coordination of day-to-day operations of Jr. RBI league.

Additional duties and responsibilities
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Youth Baseball Department, including Marlins Youth Baseball events, Alumni appearances, as well as FanFest.

 Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines
  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Sport Administration, Marketing, or related fields;
  • Experience working with youth groups;
  • Bilingual preferred; High School Baseball/Softball experience preferred.
